Always number the pages of a contract. This eliminates the possibility of the other party adding more pages with a malicious intent.
Always use active voice when drafting a contract.
Uniformity of language is extremely important. For example – if you start drafting in British English, make sure you follow the same thing for the whole contract.
Use tables and graphs judiciously to represent large amounts of data. It makes the contract easier to read.
Make sure that if the contract includes a list, it also includes whether the list is exhaustive or not.
While drafting a contract, make sure it is not one-sided. Always make room for the other party, depending upon negotiations.
Try to maintain coherency when several parties are involved in a contract or persons with multiple positions within an organization are mentioned.
